The amount surpassed last year’s fundraising total, making it the largest donation to the nonprofit in the tournament’s history. This brings the total raised for the United Way of Aroostook to more than $720,000 since the event’s inception.

“We set out with high expectations for this year, and we exceeded them yet again,” said Matt McHatten, President and CEO of MMG Insurance. “I continue to be impressed by the generosity of sponsors, donors, and golfers as well as by the hard work of the MMG team in putting on an incredible event. The United Way’s impact on Northern Maine is invaluable, and my hope is that these funds will help them reach more individuals than ever before.”

United Way will distribute all funds raised through the tournament to local agencies that directly benefit residents of Aroostook County.

Sarah Duncan, Executive Director of the United Way of Aroostook, expressed her gratitude to all who participated in the event, and she is optimistic about the long-term benefits of these funds to those in the County.

“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support shown at this year’s charity golf tournament,” said Duncan. “This donation will make a meaningful impact on our initiatives and further our mission to support those in need.  We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who contributed to this successful event.”

MMG’s enduring commitment to United Way of Aroostook continues, and plans are already taking shape for next year’s tournament.
